St. Thomas More Church – Artist Furniture

IMG_8888

The St. Thomas More Church Furniture, a Catholic church, in Oceanside California. Stephen Hirt designed and fabricated the furniture with the exception of some collaboration from the liturgical designer from Texas, consulting on the tabernacle for the movement. I think that same liturgical designer did the triangular at the base, candles and Steve fabricated them for him.ย  He also had help fabricated his designs which is why I’m posting this. ๐Ÿ™‚ Frank helped him fabricate and install some of the pieces. I will update it if I got any of the credits wrong or Steve wants to call out the helpers. See final gallery/slideshow for fabricating pics.

I thought the church was going to be stark but I think it turned out gorgeous! I was wro…. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I do think that Steve’s designs helped it to be more balanced in that way. Did I mention it also has an olive grove? For some reason, I love that.

This is the making of and finishing touches of the furniture. I separated them out so you could flip through them or peruse at your preference.
